Ingredients

  • 2 cups shortbread cookies, finely crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 16 oz whipped topping, thawed
  • 8 Butterfinger bars, crushed

Method

  1. Combine crushed shortbread cookies and melted butter in a bowl.
  2. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Chill the crust in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  4. Beat softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Fold in half of the thawed whipped topping until smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
  7. Sprinkle half of the crushed Butterfinger bars over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Spread the remaining whipped topping across the top.
  9. Top the dessert with the remaining candy bar crumbles.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving to allow layers to set.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing for a lump-free filling. For an extra crunch, add the candy bar topping immediately before serving instead of before refrigeration. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
