Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups ridged potato chips (Lay’s, Ruffles, or any thick-cut chips)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips (or dark/white chocolate, based on preference)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
  • Sea salt (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Toppings (optional: crushed nuts, caramel drizzle, or sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet – Line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Melt the chocolate – In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted. If using, stir in coconut oil for a smoother consistency.
  3. Dip the chips – Using tongs or a fork, dip each potato chip into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coat. Let excess drip off before placing them on the parchment paper.
  4. Add toppings (optional) – Sprinkle sea salt, nuts, or caramel drizzle while the chocolate is still wet.
  5. Let them set – Place the baking sheet in the fridge for 20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
  6. Serve and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • For a crunchier texture, use ridged or kettle-cooked potato chips.
  • Experiment with flavors by using dark, milk, or white chocolate.
  • Want a spicy kick? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the melted chocolate.
  • Perfect for gifting! Package them in decorative bags for a homemade sweet-and-salty treat.
